The mix of originals and covers is as fresh as tomorrow. Reviewer:
Robin Elks, "Robin on the Radio", 2TENFM 89.7 & 98.7 Tenterfield
New South Wales 7 Stanthorpe Queensland Australia I was very
surprised to find this was the first CD from the Bill DiCosimo outfit.
With the talent displayed here it certainly won't be their last. The
musicianship is world class and Lisa has the flexible vocal ability to
tackle any chart. Bill, Edgar and Frank create a perfect musical unit
and Bill's piano and composing work are inspirational. The mix of
originals and covers is as fresh as tomorrow. This CD has found a
regular place in the "Jazz Infusion" part of my show.
A live recording of top quality music. Reviewer: John Reid, Keith Community Radio, Keith-Banffshire, Scotland A
live recording of top quality music, with a nice lively, smooth, and
well balanced quality. Musicians who interact well together and back up
the vocals with top class musicianship in their own right. The
arrangements are spot on and I was also very impressed with Bill
DiCosimo's own compositions which are well structured. The melodies and
rhythms are excellent throughout and come over well in the live
performance. Great Work all round.
An incredible cross genre mix! Reviewer: Tony Bates, Highlands 100.7 FM, Maldon Victoria Australia What
an incredible cross genre mix, that in lesser hands might well have
failed. This album grabs your attention from track one and from then on
you're its captive!
Fantastic Album! Reviewer: Alex Pijnen, BRTO Radio, Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands Fantastic Album! Great stuff for our Radio Station.
Great balance between standards and originals. Check out "Kane's Blues!" Reviewer: John This
live recording catches the quartet in great form as they run through a
set that includes some well chosen standards as well as some terific
new originals including the title cut and "Kane's Blues." Bill DiCosimo
tears it up on piano and the the band's versatility, sense of humor and
overall chemistry are in evidence throughout. A superior live date and
well worth the price of admission!!! Reviewer: Amy Bernon, Songwriter & Published Composer The
CD came yesterday, and I've been listening to it almost non-stop! It's
gorgeous and I'm loving it. Lisa's voice is so flexible--whatever range
she's in and whatever style she's singing, it's wonderful! The whole
group is so tight and together. I hope I get to hear you live sometime.
Wish I lived closer! Congratulations on the CD, and keep up the great
music!
Fun, thoughtful, original... Reviewer: Big Fan This
CD has everything...groovy beats, thoughtful ballads, and musical
prowess from each member. The group has a great sense of ensemble. I
dare you to try and get the title song out of your head!
Reviewer: Mark Bialczak - Syracuse Post Standard Newspaper The
12-song disc, split evenly between original songs and covers, captures
the intimate feel of the 70-seat theater as the quartet melds the
sounds of jazz, blues and world beats. The good vibe starts with
DiCosimo's keen composing ear. "Give Me All Your Love" allows Lisa
DiCosimo's voice to soar and "Tomorrow Brings the Rain" let's
DiCosimo's keyboards put you in the mood to hear the drops play
nature's beat on the roof.
great live session Reviewer: Larry Luttinger Perennial
favorite on the the Upstate New York jazz scene, Bill DiCosimo's group
really captures the high energy level of their live performances with
this project. Their takes on jazz, Latino and funk standards and some
great originals are as fresh and in-your-face as it gets. Check it out!
First Class musicianship, Too good to be considered a local release! Reviewer: Denny Giantomasi This
is a super group! Every instrument (vocals included) is represented by
a true artist. Bill DiCosimo's keyboard work is world class! That alone
would be enough, but Edgar Pagan's bass work and Frank Neubert's
drumming are sheer inspiration backed by supreme command and major
league talent. Lisa DiCosimo has the serious vocal chops to tie it all
together. Listening to the outstanding blend of songs played in
arrangements that augment the mind blowing talent in this group, you
can't help but feel you're listening to a 4th or 5th CD from a
legendary band. They are that good! If you like the Jazz Genre, then
you'd be a fool not to pick up this disc. Some Amazing stuff here!!
